he's looking at his empty glass, when illeana's voice pipes up, all thoughts of Remi Cassel's betrayal forgotten. "ditto," he flashes back with a smile, straightening at her approach.

a simple nod greets the golurk, and from around his wrist, his comfey rises and floats towards the woman in recognition. she mews in greeting.

"it's been alright," it was the truth, he'd enjoyed himself a bit more than he expected, "what about yours?"

"just alright?" an eyebrow raises in question. and before she can pry all of the details out of him, he's flipping the question. her cheeks radiate mild warmth as her smile grows a little shy.

"it's actually kind of fun," she offers. an embarrassed giggle follows before she's sighing softly, dipping into an explanation without hesitation. "i've never really done this before so it's definitely an experience."

ellie responds in kind to illie's enthusiasm, her small laugh coming off like the sound of tinkling bells. she floats up to land and rest in her hair like a small flower crown.

"this is all a bit strange to me," he admits, bashfully patting his head, "but it's fun, yeah. meet any hearthrobs?"

"really?" she leans forward a little, curiosity piqued.

and then, he asks a question that makes her still. rosy skin darkens at the thought, as if illeana reyes is somehow bashful again. she isn't, per se but... it's still an embarrassing topic, one she deflects by flashing a teasing grin instead.

"yeah, right now," she chirps with a wink.

he huffs out a breathe of amusement, letting her compliment? her joke? roll over him with a forced, not-so-well practiced ease. it doesn't make him uncomfortable in an unwelcoming way, but rather, it's not something he hears often.

while she has knocked a shot or two back, it's not enough to clog the cogs in her mind. they churn freely without hindrance from the sluggishness alcohol provides.

"what, do you not think you're a heartthrob?" her arms settle over her chest in defiance as if the thought is preposterous to her.

and maybe it's a blessing for greyson that the timer ticks away their remaining time... otherwise, he might hear worse.
